BASIC FUNCTION:

Assist the Secondary Director in monitoring and evaluating programs and operations of district secondary schools. Works collaboratively with other Directors and Assistant Superintendents to coordinate services with all schools.  The primary functions of the Coordinator will be to assist the Secondary Director with management tasks, data review and analysis; committee representation; QIT and building collaboration. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Any combination equivalent to: master’s degree in education and valid Indiana Teacher’s license; valid Indiana Administrative license; experience working with educational programs. Must have strong planning, administrative, supervisory, analytical, computer, organizational, accountability, oral and written communication skills.  Must possess knowledge of the comprehensive organization, operations, policies and objectives of assigned department or area. 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Assist with the planning, organizing, of operations and activities designed to support the leadership development of building administrators. This includes the development of professional relationships with staff, students, parents, patrons and district personnel; the development of a professional learning community culture; the development of systems and procedures designed to support a focus on student learning.
  •  Collaborate with Director to assess the effectiveness and direct the implementation of leadership and instructional programs and practices designed to maximize student achievement in schools, based on district, state, and national models as evidenced by student learning data.
  • Collaborate with College and Career Readiness on approvals and other items regarding dual credit, etc.
  • Represent secondary level office on committees for Schools of Success, Edgenuity, City Connect and others.
  • Assist with the support, monitoring and evaluation of the application of district models and practices designed to maximize student achievement in schools.
  • Assess, support, mediate and resolve parent concerns for any school. Maintain appropriate documentation and follow up with school personnel to adjust skills and practices, escalated issues will be taken to the Secondary Director.
  • Assist with tasks related to security, professional learning, athletics, curriculum, human resources, communication, marketing and other areas as needed.
  • Perform related duties as assigned by Administration.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to speak and hear.  The employee is required to have dexterity of hands and fingers.  The employee is required to sit or stand for extended periods.  They may be occasionally required to bend at the waist, kneel or crouch.  Normal visual acuity is required.  While performing the duties of this job the incumbent is seated or walking at will and must be able to push, pull, lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
